The path of Paul Marciano was in Morocco back in 1952. His family was Jewish by origin, but they stayed in Marseille, France. The family of Paul Marciano had some status in the Jewish Temple with both the father, grandfather and great-grandfather holding the titles of Jewish rabbis. The temple was the habitation of Paul Marciano together with his other four siblings.
The life of Paul Marciano changed significantly at the age of 15. Paul Marciano the had an accident together with his friend that included a motorcycle having a head-on collision with a car. The accident resulted in Paul Marciano using a wheelchair the most public early life, and it will say to doctors that you will it ever walk again. His unprecedented return to Israel is because he could not go back to school after the restoration of his limbs because he had stayed for a long time without studying.
His family owned a clothing line that is named Maurice Georges Armand, and this was his springboard to the clothing industry. We can deduce how much progress Maurice Georges Armand made by having some stalls in the French Riviera.
The extended leave taken by the Marciano brother in the year 1977 was an eye-opener as to how the state of California offers them an opportunity in the clothing industry. It was shortly after that Paul Marciano and his brothers formed Guess Inc. which has remained to be a dominant industry player in fashion. It was a decision amongst the Marciano brothers to sell 50% shares of the company to the Nakash brothers to widen their reach in the market. Later revelations revealed that the Nakash brothers were fraudulent in their dealings with the Marciano brothers and this significantly affected their alliance. This resulted to a division of brands between the Nakash brothers and the Marciano brothers. “Diesel” was the plan for the Marcianos while “Gasoline” was that for the Nakash brothers.
Paul Marciano acted as the advertising and public relations manager of Guess Inc. and was later honored with the title of chief operating officer. In August 2015, Paul Marciano resigned from being the chief executive officer of Guess Inc., and he was left with the executive chairman and the chief creative officer.
It was at this point that he developed his passion for art. He together with his brother Maurice went for the philanthropic journey to invest in the Maurice and Paul Art Foundation.
